The question isn’t really which one has the better image quality? The question really is whats better for your living room and whats the price?
plasma televisions our only 42 inches or more, this being because plasma is a gas, The better picture quality with plasma televisions is because the gases like to be further apart from each other. What you’ll see with plasma television is more accurate skin tones and a more natural picture. So it will be a little darker. Because of the gases and its quick reactions. This means the picture has better motions.
Liquid crystal display or simply known as LCD HDTV. These tvs reduce glare as oppose to a plasma also its colors are a bit more vibrant. LCD TVs are considered by some to be the de facto television because its makes up over 50% of all flat screen TV sales.
LED TVs which stands for Light-emitting diode is kinda of an advancement of LCD. Nearly all LCD TVs are LED TVs. The back-lighting is the only thing LED about. The LED back-lighting will make it more energy efficient and will make your whites brighter and your dark’s darker due to the contrast ratio. Compared to LCD TVs, LED TVs are more bright and more vibrant and reduces glare from the light, so the room your in does matter.
So which one is more expensive and which ones are better picture wise? third place would be the plasma TV. The good side is its the cheapest of the three technologies but unfortunately the worse picture of the three, but that doesn’t mean its a deficient technology. Some customers actual like plasma more so then LED TVs and LCD TVs. A cheap plasma TV bought brand new can be found online at plasma god for around $450.
2nd place and the silver medal goes to LCD TV. It has better picture then Plasma but not better then LED. LCD’s do make over 50% of all HD flat screen sales. A 42-inch LCD HDTV can be found online at Plasma God for around $700.
1st place would be….. LED TVs, they have all the features that LCD have also the back-lighting is better and more energy efficient. Quite simply, it’s just an overall better quality of picture. Just like everything in this world that is green it cost more (which is why green economics doesn’t work, but that’s another issue). Most 42-inch LED TVs you can find online at Plasma God for around $950. Yup that’s correct. Nearly over twice as much as a plasma television. Comes at no surprise most newer technologies in the electronics department are usually always more. This makes sense considering how the better and newer technologies are more pricey.
